One of my favourite sayings is "The World is Fine as Seen Through Wine!" and one of my favourite festivals is back - The Delicata Classic Wine Festival. A festival of wine, what's not to love eh!
This popular yearly wine event by Delicata will take place at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta on August 9, 10, and 11, running from 7pm to midnight each evening, and this year they have over 20 delicious wines available for us to taste!
More than just a celebration of wine, the 21st edition of this community-focused festival offers a chance to interact with the island's top winemaker, enjoy Malta's Mediterranean way of life, and join other wine and food enthusiasts in a safe, fun, and festive environment for three days of togetherness.
Attendance is free but it would be very rude not to sample some of the islands most glorious wines wouldn't it, and you can do just that for only €22!
This fee entitles you to a wine purse filled with 24 wine coins AND a lovely souvenir glass to take home with you. Tasters are in fact a 150ml glass of wine and each taster glass will only set you back around 4 of your wine coins. Super value eh!
This years delightful assortment comprises semi-sparkling Frizzantes, the exclusive DOK Malta Medina and DOK Gozo Victoria Heights boutique wines, the renowned Gran Cavalier and Grand Vin de Hauteville series, the delightful Dolcino and Falcon wines, the rich Casella Moscato, various varietals from the Classic Collection, all three Pjazza Reġina wines, and the beloved SpritZZers.
If tasting some deliciously chilled wines in a stunning setting isn't enough, on Sunday night, a special event called the All Stars Show will take place. This show will feature guest singers Glen Vella, Claudia Faniello, Moira Stafrace, Debbie Scerri, Fabrizio Faniello, Mike Spiteri, and Ludwig Galea joining forces with the Spiteri Lucas Band to showcase some of Malta's most memorable Eurovision Song Contest entries from the past. How much fun will that be!
Friday sees the long-awaited return of The Crowns followed by Gianni & RUG, and on the Saturday, Kersten Graham and Band open for Kurt Calleja, an all-star in his own right.
And there is more! As it's always a good idea to line the old tummy, the festival offers an array of live cooking stalls which will offer an enticing selection of Maltese and international dishes catering to a diverse range of tastes. All expertly prepared by some of Malta's top event caterers!

You can pay at the entrance on the evening (starting at 7 pm every night) with both cash and major credit cards, alternatively, you have the option to buy your wine purse and souvenir glass online beforehand at no additional cost!
This way, you can fast track your way to finding and enjoying your new favourite Delicata wines on the night!
