When you fall in #love with a restaurant, just by visiting at a different time of day, can feel as intoxicating as falling head over heels in love with the place all over again.
Followers of my blog will already know that my favourite restaurant in #Gozo is Il Terrazzo located in #Xlendi.
Guys, if you haven't already visited, I absolutely implore you to do so! This restaurant is an absolute gem!
Firstly, the food is amazing!
Reggie the owner is passionate and present, the restaurant is his pride and joy. When you visit you will truly understand why.
Secondly, the setting is breath-taking!
Il Terrazzo sits proudly on its own, set into the headland, facing the azure blue and emerald green waters of the Mediterranean. It’s only here you can truly enjoy the spirit of the old Xlendi and still be able to fully inhale its charm and exhale a feeling of true contentment.
Once upon a time, Xlendi used to be a sleepy fishing village, known for its handful of fish restaurants and its picturesque bay.
Sadly the big bad wolves (aka greedy developers) have moved in and they are huffing and puffing and blowing the houses down, quite literally!
The high rises are malevolently starting to creep in, (with a huge sky high development also in the planning stages) towering over and shading this once low rise Gozitan village.
The numerous restaurants packed together like sardines in the bay are now set in the midst of this chaos, serenaded by a symphony of building work.
I urge you my lovelies to run, run as fast as you can away from there and #escape to the safe sanctuary of the headland and the beautiful Il Terrazzo.

We chose to dine more formally, taking a table al fresco in the elegant restaurant. There is also a gorgeous terrace downstairs too, Gabriel’s Terrace - Café and Lounge Bar.
The terrace is named after Reggie’s angelic young son Gabriel who was devastating taken from this world far too young. Gabriel loved the restaurant just as much as his Dad and his spirit shines brightly on here. The lounge is a beautiful eternal tribute to a beautiful boy.
This otherworldly, ethereal setting is the perfect chill out zone to enjoy precious moments with good friends or family enjoying a deliciously refreshing #sundowner or three!
To set the scene of our #sunset visit, we arrived at around 6pm, ready to take in Gods natural light show, and boy did we have our breath taken away.
A heavenly #kaleidoscope of colours, encompassing lavish hues of yellow, orange, red, gold and pink.
Sunset here is incredibly special indeed.
Dinner is equally and as spectacularly special!
We drank in the hypnotic sunset atmosphere enjoying delectable cocktails and a mouth-wateringly delicious sharing platter.
As the sun set, we lingered over our dinner, taking Reggie's recommendation of one of the days specials, a melt in the mouth tender, grass fed beef fillet steak, which we savoured with a local buttery bottle of pink frizzante.
It was simply heavenly and a truly enchanting evening!
I just know you'll be as smitten with Il Terrazzo as I am!
