Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having an awesome weekend!
We are just a few weeks away from the start of the spectacular Malta International Fireworks Festival!
If you will be on holiday in Malta or Gozo during this time, you are very lucky bunnies indeed! The displays and locations are utterly breath-taking!
"The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority are pleased to announce that the 21st edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival will be taking place on seven nights between Monday 24th April and Sunday 30th April 2023. Each night promises to be a beautiful display of colour and coordination, and the closing night is bound to be a true spectacle."
The festival also has a competitive edge! Each year the festival hosts a Pyromusical competition! This is where the fireworks are designed to match the rhythm of a musical tune, this years theme being "Symphonies through the decades" Awards are then give to the most impressive displays!
Last year Phoenix Fireworks from the UK took home the coveted first prize!
Today I'm sharing this years schedule, which encompasses both Malta and Gozo, with dates and locations as follows,
As well as the traditional aerial firework displays, Floriana (just outside the capital city Valletta's walls) will play host to the mechanical ground display. Think Catherine Wheels etc.
This will take place on the 22nd of April. It's a real spectacle and not to be missed.
You can read more about Malta's love of fireworks in this blog post and also watch a short video clip which will give you a little taste of the excitement which awaits 🤩
Watch the finale in style!
If you'd like to avoid the crowds and get even closer to the action, why not watch the finale from the water! Hera Cruises invite you to join them on board the beautiful Hera!
This is "the most spectacular way to watch and enjoy the Malta Fireworks Festival 2023! Treat yourself to an amazing night of fire, colour and dancing reflections during this year’s festival"
