This investment not only signifies a commitment to excellence but also showcases Malta International Airport's dedication to creating a more sustainable and enjoyable travel experience for everyone.
Malta International Airport CEO Alan Borg said that this programme "will build on the investments undertaken by the company over the past two years to continue future-proofing the airport infrastructure."
Key investments set to conclude in 2025, include,
The Apron 8 South project, which will increase aircraft parking capacity by 40%
The Westward Expansion, which has seen the terminal grow by 1,550sq.m to allow for a smoother incoming journey.
Up next, the Eastward Expansion.

Get ready for an amazing transformation! This further investment will see an extension of the terminal by a whopping 6,000 sq.m! This incredible upgrade will introduce additional gates, check-in desks, and spacious circulation areas, all designed to enhance the airport experience for departing travellers. How fantastic is that?
But wait, there’s more! For your ultimate convenience, the new building will be directly connected to the airport's multi-storey car park, Park East. No more hassle—just seamless access!
And that’s not all! The €345 million investment programme will also focus on enhancing infrastructure to meet the airports environmental commitments, including their ambitious net zero target. How inspiring!
They were also excited to share that the airport will soon unveil its fifth and largest photovoltaic farm, which will more than double their clean energy generation capacity once it’s commissioned in Q3 2025! This will be complemented by energy-saving measures, including upgraded heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. The future is bright and green!
