For those of you, who like myself, regularly take #holidays in #Malta and #Gozo, a crane or 4 on the horizon is a very familiar sight! 😂
Sooooo much development has been taking place, which thankfully includes a whole host of brand spanking new #hotels for us all to fall in #love with.
Today I'm sharing with you my 10 favourites.
Some you may have missed as they opened in 2020, whilst others are set to open this year or next.
So here we go, and in no particular order,
The very first Hyatt branded property to reach the shores of Malta, is situated in St Julians.
This 5* property boats 151 luxurious rooms and 12 suites, 2 pools one of which is a rooftop, underground parking, a Carisma Spa, (check out my blog for an exclusive offer) and three food and beverage outlets intriguingly called Seed, Thyme and Gin-ger.

This palatial house in the islands capital city #Valletta dates back to the 19th century. It has been meticulously restored and features a grand staircase and ancient vaults! The "House" is home to 10 individually styled bedrooms and suites along with the fine dining restaurant ION - The Harbour which has just been awarded a prestigious Michelin Star. 🤩
The Iniala Spa and Pool will open in August of this year, and you can enjoy your favourite tipple in the Vault Lounge Bar, or pump some iron in The Works gym.
Connected to the House you will find the exclusive Residences, four one or two bedroom uber luxurious suites complete with either a private sea facing plunge pool, or a spectacular picture window facing the majestic Grand Harbour
For a more intimate stay, The Hideaway can be found just a couple of doors down, offering just two rooms and two suites. Each room and suite is set on its own level and enjoys stunning sea views and beautiful historic decoration.

Set right in the heart of the picturesque village square of #Mellieha, this 4* property is set to open its doors in June. Promising an "unforgettable experience" the hotel will feature #chic contemporary styled bedrooms and suites along with not one but two pools, a spa and a restaurant.

Projected to open in 2021 at gorgeous St Georges Bay in St Julians, the seafront Hard Rock Hotel Malta will "pay homage to the original 19th century British military accommodation quarters building!"
It's being built just behind, well actually towering behind, the Corinthia San Gorg and Corinthia Marina Hotels.
The property will feature a staggering 370 rooms, including 110 suites!
Features include, the imitable Hard Rock dining experience, plus a signature degustation restaurant, and how exciting, a rooftop lounge complete with #Skybar!
There will also be "numerous" pools, a massive 16,000 square feet full-service Rock Spa, and a state-of-the-art Body Rock fitness centre.
The hotel will also be home to the largest convention centre on the island! One to definitely watch out for!
St. George’s Bay, San Giljan, Saint Julian's , Malta
Part of the #Accor brand of hotels, and opening again this summer, Hotel Manager Mr Kurt Micallef is very much looking forward to welcoming us to this stunning urban hotel.
Located in St. Julian's and with beautiful views of Spinola Bay, the 4* Mercure St. Julian's Malta has 113 modern bedrooms, all with a Maltese flair. The property will feature a restaurant, bar, fitness centre and rooftop terrace complete with swimming pool

The Exiles Suites is a small boutique hotel designed in a traditional Maltese style, located just steps away from beautiful Balluta Bay in #Sliema..
The property offers a range of room types including bedrooms and suites with side sea views or a terrace/balcony/roof terrace.
There is a small communal terrace where guests can relax, a breakfast restaurant offering continental style (which is included in all rates,) and a snack bar named No Limits.

A family run #boutique hotel in the picturesque village of #Zebbug Malta. Featuring a pool with a jacuzzi, a delicious breakfast offering, and offering delightfully friendly Maltese hospitality.
Each awesome suite is individually designed, there are superior queen bedded suites, duplex suites with your own private jacuzzi and even a penthouse suite with private rooftop pool, how cool is that!

Another family owned hotel, the #bijou 123 Mainstreet Boutique Hotel is a 10 suite property situated in stunning Spinola Bay at St Julians. There are oodles of fabulous restaurants, wine bars and shops right on the doorstep, and even a spectacular #yacht marina at Portomaso.
The original building was struck down during the incessant air raids of World War II, and was rebuilt soon after, and now has been fully restored to it's former glory.
There is a snug terrace area available exclusively to guests, where you can enjoy a beautiful continental breakfast to jump start the day.
Each of the 10 suites are designed and decorated in a very unique style oozing with warm & soothing colours, and some enjoy a double fronted balcony with breath-taking side views of the bay.

Move over #Paceville, it seems that the St Pauls Bay, Bugibba and Qawra area seems to be emerging as the next party capital of #Malta.
This area famous for its English breakfasts, Sunday roasts and Karaoke, has been a firm favourite with the Brits for decades.
Witnessing the development in this area I feel the aim now seems to be in attracting the music loving #European #millennial crowd.
It's been home to the famous Cafe Del Mar Malta for quite some time, which has recently been joined by the new luxe Beef Bar on the beach whose origins are in the millionaires playground Monte Carlo.
But it's not stopping there. St Pauls Bay is soon to have it's very own "party resort hotel".
Bora Bora Ibiza Malta "the resort designed for party goers" was due to open its doors next month. It will be the islands first "music resort"
Sadly with the decision not to allow mass events this summer, (which also includes DJ's,) the property has decided with a heavy heart to postpone it's opening until 2022. An advisory on their website states that until then, the property will be operating as the Pebbles San Pawl.
Bora Bora Ibiza Malta is an expansion of the Bora Bora Ibiza beach club brand, which opened it's doors in the summer of 1982 and over the years has become one of worlds most #cosmopolitan and #famous beach clubs.
The property is a 4* modern "adults only" hotel.
There will be a large open-air stage which will host regular prestigious events along with two further entertainment venues, a restaurant. pub, outdoor pool with large sundeck, poolside cocktail bar, heated indoor pool and a fully equipped gym.
Spanning 5 floors and 231 rooms, a variety of accommodation options will be available, standard, superior, pool view and party rooms which will have a large balcony to enjoy the outdoors entertainment with all your #friends.
It will operate on a wristband concept, which will allow free breakfast in Flavours restaurant, free sunbed and entrance to Bora Bora Ibiza Malta Playa, (which boasts 300 sunbeds, 2 restaurants, 2 pools, 3 bars and an indoor club) free sunbed and entrance to Medasia Playa, free transport between the resort and playa, and free use of the indoor pool and the gym.

10. Mayflower Hotel
Opening next month too, the 3* designer styled Mayflower Hotel is located in St Pauls Bay, and is just steps away from the central bus terminal which has regular services to all main resorts and sights across the island.
Amenities include the Skydeck with its roof top infinity pool, and the contemporary Hibiscus lounge and bar which takes its inspiration from 1960's Italy.
The chic bedrooms range from standard, superior, sea view, panoramic and even a deluxe suite!
